How to get to the heart of Bangkok from the airport?

I took this photo on my 26th trip to Thailand in January, 2011. Bangkok's new Airport Link and its City Air Terminal launched in August 2010, and I used the new operation system for the first time. Just like the name implies, Suvarnabhumi (Thai: สุวรรณภูมิ) station is located on the underground floor of Suvarnabhumi Bangkok International airport. That day, I took a red line and was able to arrive at Makkasan (Thai: มักกะสัน) station in about 15 minutes. The red line is non-stop train between Suvarnabhumi and Makkasan. From my first trip to Thailand, there was always traffic jam on Bangkok, so I thought I've finally gotten such a cool new option "from" and "to" the airport.
