The Panathenaic Stadium in Athens, Greece
I took this photo at the Panathenaic Stadium in Athens, Greece that the place where the first summer Olympic hosted in 1896. This is the view from the entrance with the Greece and the Olympic flag were attached to the poles. More than a century ago, exactly 120 years ago, the first summer Olympic was held at the Panathenaic Stadium in Athens, Greece, and now in Rio. Back when I went to visit the Panathenaic Stadium was in September 2010. It's been almost 6 years since then. Time does fly, doesn't it? It flies much faster than my internal body clock, I guess.

Nobody can remember everything they read
I took this photo at the Acropolis of Athens, Greece. Since the Acropolis of Athens is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is one of the world's most famous historical sites, so it's very easy to get information about the Acropolis before you actually getting there, but for me, it's hard to remember everything. Anyway, another information about the Acropolis of Athens was displayed like the photo shows. I took this photo right next to the entrance gate of the Acropolis of Athens. The information was written in Greek and English.

Jewelry from various tombs
I took this photo at the Kerameikos Archaeological Museum in Kerameikos, Athens, Greece. Taking photos were allowed in the museum, but no flash photos were allowed. The photo shows jewelry from various tombs (1100 - 1000 BC): bronze pins, finger rings, and gold hair ring. I was very surprised to know that Ancient Greek women had been using jewelry just like us. It was over 3,100 years ago, but they were already wearing something beautiful. It was quite surprising to me. For lack of a better word, but I wanna say 'Amazing!'.

Looking up Mount Lycabettus from the city of Athens
I took this photo in Athens, Greece. Looking up Mount Lycabettus and Chapel of St. George from the city of Athens. I didn't go to visit the top of the hill, but at least took a few photos from the ground level. Mount Lycabettus is visible from the Acropolis of Athens, so one of my photos that I took at the Acropolis of Athens includes Mount Lycabettus in it. I only had four nights and five days in Athens. So many things that I wanted to do, but so little time I had on my itinerary. I wanna go back to Athens one day to do / see / eat and drink a lot more.

Monastiraki Square
I took this photo in Athens, Greece. You can see the Acropolis of Athens above the middle, Monastiraki Metro Station on the right, and Tzistarakis Mosque on the left. Yep, it's Athens. You can look up the Acropolis of Athens from so many streets, squares in Athens. Actually, Monastiraki Metro Station was the nearest station from my hotel in Athens. Back when on my arrival morning, I took a train from the airport, and got out of the train at Monastiraki Station. Then, walked toward my hotel. Also, surrounding area of Monastiraki Square is Athens' hectic shopping district. I could enjoy everything.

It depends how things go
I took this photo in Athens, Greece. I saw a tram that ran on the street and I quickly took a photo of it. Generally speaking, taking a photo of moving object is pretty difficult. A few years ago, I was interested in to go to Saint Martin (French: Saint-Martin, Dutch: Sint Maaten) in the Northeast Caribbean to visit Maho beach. The island has two parts which is known as the French side and the Dutch side. Maho beach is on the Dutch side of the island and the beach and the Princess Juliana International Airport is juxtaposed to each other. I've heard that as the international airport is right next to the beach, people on the beach are able to view low flying aircrafts. I saw a lot of amazing photos on the Internet, but I have no idea how they took that nice photos of flying aircrafts.

Sorry, but I don't get it.
I took this photo in Athens, Greece. The photo reminds me of something. When one of my Italian acquaintances and I were looking at some beautiful images of Santorini island on the Internet, I pointed at a building and said there was a church. But he said no, the building that I pointed at was Greek Orthodox Church. I pointed at an another building and asked him how about that one. He said it was not a church, it was Greek Orthodox Church. I didn't get it any differences, but it seemed like there must be huge differences between them. So how about this one? I took a photo of what?

Is this the right platform to the airport?
I took this photo in Kerameikos, Athens, Greece. I visited the area of Kerameikos on the day before my departure. On the following morning, after having buffet breakfast at my hotel, I checked out the hotel and walked toward Monastiraki Metro station, then got to the airport by metro. When I was waiting on the platform, some other tourists asked me that it was the right platform to the airport. Yep, you nailed it. Speaking of which, two of the tourists who asked me about the right platform were a Caucasian couples. They were going to fly to Tel Aviv, Israel by El Al Israel Airlines just like I was going to do so. What a coincidence. What a small world.

Gyros goes very well with Mythos
I took this photo at the Temple of Olympian Zeus in Athens, Greece. I stayed there for a long time for walking around, taking a lot of photos, and looking up the Acropolis of Athens. It was a very quiet place which had a lot to see. It was in September and it was hot during the day, but at night the temperature got colder than my expectation. So I bought a cardigan while I was looking for a place for dinner. Finally I chose a Gyros place for dinner and had a bowl full of vegetable soup, very nice pork Gyro with a cool bottle of Mythos.

Getting there is half the fun
I took this photo in Athens, Greece as my second photo of arriving. I was so excited to view the Acropolis of Athens from below. First things first, I started to walk toward the Acropolis of Athens. I didn't expect before, but the way to the Acropolis was a little too confusing. The world-famous ancient citadel was seen from a lot of places, but a lot of tourists were getting lost and talked each other how to get there. Come to think of that, when I visited the Castle of São Jorge in Lisbon, Portugal, the similar thing happened to tourists. Some tourists looked at a map on their smartphone, but still. Oh, well. Getting there is half the fun.

The weather can make or break the trip
Recently, I've been preparing for my next vacation. I will depart on the 22nd October. It'll be a solo-trip again, but I will take my iPad mini as my travel partner and I'm planning to update my blog from countries where I will visit. During my next vacation, I will visit Zagreb, Croatia for the first time and I'm really looking forward to getting to a country where I've never been. By the way, I took this photo in Athens, Greece. It was a perfect day to explore the beautiful ancient city.

Look forward to an unplanned trip
The photo shows one of the beautiful Outer Kerameikos ruins which I saw after I visited the awesome museum in Kerameikos, Athens, Greece. So many sculptures were open on all sides to the weather outside of the museum and visitors can take a stroll around between the huge collection of ancient sculptures. It was a really nice experience to see ancient Greek sculptures this close to me. Actually, Greece is a country where I really want to visit again. I'm thinking what would I do next time. Navagio bay in Zakynthos is already in my bucket list, but other than that, it's up in the air.

Pop a shutter against the blue sky background
I took this photo at the Temple of Olympian Zeus in Athens, Greece. Compare to the Acropolis of Athens, there weren't so many tourists, but people who stayed there for a long time seemed like enjoy to take a lot of photos from many different perspectives. In my case, especially to take this photo, I looked up the temple's Corinthian capitals from below and popped a shutter against the blue sky background. Remember, you can see the Acropolis of Athens from the Temple of Olympian Zeus. Don't miss it.

I was asked at a good time
I took this photo in Athens, Greece. I was having my first Greek dinner with a nice view of the beautiful acropolis of Athens. It was so nice to choose the place as my first dinner dinner place in Athens. As it was my first evening in Athens, Greece, I didn't know much about the lay of the land and also I didn't have enough knowledge about Greek cuisine, so I was just walking around with no plan. Then, a bubbly Greek waiter asked me to have dinner in his place which had this fantastic view of the Acropolis. There was no reason to say no.

I've always been wanting to visit Athens
I took this photo somewhere in between Ancient Agora and Monastriaki metro station in Athens, Greece. Back when I was walking around there, I kinda enjoyed getting lost and also I was interested in taking lots and lots of photos on the streets. I took this photo just for the eye-catching graffito on the walls. That day was such a special day for me. For the first time in almost three and a half years, I was able to return to the European continent and Greece was the country where I've always been wanting to visit.

Coming right up
I took this photo at my favorite taverna in Athens, Greece. You are what you eat so I was a bottle of Amstel in Athens. I drank lots of Amstel during my stay in Athens. At that time I was waiting for my Salisbury steak was brought in. But first, beer as always. I was planning to fly to Jerusalem, Israel on the following day, so it was virtually my last day in Athens. I found this taverna by coincidence, and I was really impressed by their tasty meal, so I went to the taverna at night as well, but I was a little late to their closing time. Gee, see you next round.

Here we go, say cheese!
I took this photo in Athens, Greece when I visited the Temple of Olympian Zeus. While everybody was taking a lot of photos of a magnificent ruined temple, I found these trees right behind me and took a photo of it. Compare to the Acropolis of Athens, the Temple of Olympian Zeus was not so crowded. Tourists there were trying to take a better photo in front of the beautiful ruined temple without many other tourist. I was there alone and wandering around, so I was asked to take a photo of a happy shiny Caucasian couple.

The best place to be is within sight of the Acropolis
I took this photo in Athens, Greece. When I visited the Temple of Olympian Zeus, I was able to enjoy viewing the Acropolis of Athens just like the photo shows. I had only four nights in Athens I mean I had kinda so little time in Athens, but I had so many things to do and so many places to see in this beautiful ancient city. The Temple of Olympian Zeus was also one of my must-sees. To be honest, before I got there, I didn't imagine that the Acropolis of Athens was visible from there, so I was in awe of it.

It's on the house
I took this photo in Athens, Greece. When I walked around the city, I found this beautiful bell tower of the Russian Orthodox Church and took a photo of it. Athens is one of my favorite capital cities of Europe. It has good weather, delicious cuisine, and very nice people. I spent four night in Athens and visited the city's must-see sights, took a lot of photos, and really enjoyed yummy Gyros, Greek Salad and Greek yogurt. My very first Greek yogurt was on the house. Thank you. I really appreciate it.

The Olympics have begun
This is my another pic of 1896 Olympic Stadium in Athens, Greece. It's officially called the Panathenaic Stadium that the place where the first summer Olympic hosted in 1896. I waited for the wind to take the Greek flag and the Olympic flag together. The stadium was empty at that moment, but I was so impressed to be there. By the way, a while ago, I truly enjoyed to watch the opening ceremony of the 2012 London Olympic Games on TV. It was fantastic and full of surprises. I've lost track of time.
