Fancy loco moco

Took this photo at a restaurant in Tokyo, Japan when I had a fancy loco moco for a lunch. This one was relatively expensive than many other weekday lunch in Tokyo, but it was worth having definitely. White rice was covered up with the hamburger patty and rich gravy. A sunny-side up covered them all and accompanied Hawaiian orchid to put icing on the cake or something. The point was that the hamburger patty and Gravy were made from A5 grade wagyu beef. The juicy hamburger patty and rich very rich gravy were match made in heaven.

Paint the town green

I took this photo at a pub in London, England, the United Kingdom.  Ordered a half pint of Guinness at the bar, and took a photo of it before I touched it. First things first (when I travel). The pub was named the Sussex Arms, and was located near London Paddington Station. A very nice pub with great atmosphere. Actually, my original photo was taken in some blue-ish lights. Since March 17 is Saint Patricks Day, I photoshopped the pic a little bit, and now it looks like the photo was taken in some greenish lights in a way. Paint the town green on St. Patricks Day.

A fabulous Italian place in Sin city

I took this photo while I was enjoying the fabulous evening at Fellini's Italian Restaurant in Las Vegas, the USA. Fellini's Italian Restaurant in located on the casino floor of Stratosphere Hotel and Casino. I personally believe that Fellini's Italian Restaurant is simply the best Italian that I've been outside of Italy. Interior design of Fellini's Italian Restaurant was just so nice. With that, I felt like I was dining at a hidden great ristorante somewhere in Italy. That night, I ordered a bottle of Budweiser and Linguine Vongole and a few more items. It was a great great great unforgettable dinner.

With or without, two different tastes

The photo was taken at a restaurant of Stratosphere Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, the United States of America. I was staying at Stratosphere Hotel and the restaurant was on the ground floor. I ordered a bottle of corona extra at the beginning of dinner and ordered the second bottle of corona afterwards. Some beers go really well with lemon wedge or lime wedge. Of course, corona it is, but not only corona. Let's say Hoegaarden. Hoegaarden is a Belgian wheat beer (a.k.a. white beer) and its taste will dramatically change with a lemon wedge.

A cup espresso in Porto, Portugal

Back when I was in Porto, Portugal, one of my acquaintances texted me. She wrote that the name of Porto reminded her of fond memories of Porto as well as cups of espresso and glasses of Port Wine. That time, I already enjoyed a lot of things in Porto, but still haven't had a cup of espresso. So I started to enjoy it after read the text from her. Better late than never. The photo shows one of the cups of espresso which I had in Porto, Portugal. After Rio Douro Cruise, took a stroll around the city for a while and had a yummy Portuguese lunch at an eatery. After lunch, I ordered a cup of espresso.

My first beer in Barcelona

The photo shows my first glass of beer in Barcelona, Spain. The beer was on tap and I had it with a couple of kinds of tapas and authentic Paella. Since it was my arrival day in Barcelona, Spain, I did some ground research nearby my hotel with my camera in one hand. After that, I enjoyed having late lunch with some drinks at a pub. Very nice atmosphere there. Actually, I started my sightseeing from the second day in Barcelona, so the late lunch at the pub was one of my very nice fond memories on the arrival day in Barcelona. I have so many fond memories all the other days in Barcelona.

An empty glass of Stella Artois

I took this photo at a Belgium restaurant and bar in North Pattaya, Thailand. If my memory is correct, I drank up two pints of Stella Artois and the photo was taken after that. Stella Artois is my favourite beer, and I love its glass as well. So while I was waiting for my bill or something like that, I took a photo of the empty glass. When I'm in Thailand, normally I drink Thai beer, like Singha, Chang, Leo and so on and I love them, but sometimes I choose European beer like Stella Artis or Guinness and so on.

Goldstar on tap on the beach

I took this photo at a restaurant on a beach in Tel Aviv, Israel. I stopped by the restaurant for lunch. But first, I ordered Israeli beer. My table was right next to the beach. So, after Goldstar was served on tap, I took this photo first, then after that I started to enjoy the beer, the atmosphere, and everything under the perfect weather. It was the day before my departure and I already really loved Israel. While viewing the beach with the glass of beer in hand, I was thinking when I will be able to come back to Tel Aviv again. I went back to Tel Aviv three years later.

A quarter century is such a long time

The photo shows my breakfast which I had at my hotel in Milan, Italy. I might mentioned somewhere in this blog, but I say again, I'm a big fan of Italian cuisine for over a quarter century. I really love pasta and risotto, but not only pasta or risotto, I love many more Italian cuisine. When I was in Italy, I was always thinking about food, and I was like "what will I be eating for lunch today and where?", "what will I be eating for dinner tonight and where?", and it was so much fun to think about it, and actually had them.

Happy holidays. Prost!

I took this photo at an Irish pub in Frankfurt, Germany. The Irish pub was located across from Frankfurt (Main) Hauptbahnhof (English: Frankfurt (Main) main station), and my hotel was right around the corner from the pub. So I used that Irish pub as my "usual pub" during my vacation in Frankfurt, and went there three nights in a row. Luckily, one of the night, my table was situated in front of a decorated christmas tree, so I really enjoyed to immerse myself in festive mood. A pint of Guinness was served with what I call as the genius head. Truly well-pulled, and very well-done. Prost!

แหนมย่าง

The photo shows Naem Yang (Thai: แหนมย่าง) which I bought at a stall near the Chumphon Gate (Thai: ประตูชุมพล) in Nakhon Ratchasima (Thai: นครราชสีมา, a.k.a. Korat, Thai: โคราช), Thailand. Naem (Thai: แหนม) is like a fermented pork sausage can be eaten in the raw, grilled like the photo shows, stir-fried with rice, or any other style as you like. Yang (Thai: ย่าง) means grilled, so Naem Yang (Thai: แหนมย่าง) is like a grilled fermented pork sausage. Very yummy. Very. I'm the one who's addicted to its taste.

DE4082 FRA - LAS; the 1st meal; Dec 2013

The photo shows a premium inflight-meal of Condor Flugdienst GmbH flight DE4082 Frankfurt, Germany to Las Vegas, NV, the United States of America (FRA - LAS). It was a 12-hour nonstop flight and the photo shows the 1st meal on board. When I opened the meal package and unveiled the lid, I felt like I was going to have a delicious four course dinner at a fancy restaurant in the sky. Veal with ratatouille salad as a starter, Braised beef Rouladen stuffed with veggies served with red cabbage sauerkraut and German potato dumplings was the main dish, cherry mouse with fruit jelly and custard for dessert. Also, not to mention Gouda Cheese and Camembert went really well with a glass of red wine. Premium economy. Once in a blue moon experience.

Šopska Salata

The photo shows Shopska Salad (Croatian: Šopska Salata) and a bottle of Heineken which I had at a restaurant in Zagreb, Croatia. Shopska Salad is also known as Balkan salad. I had it for the first time in the previous evening, and I ordered it again that night. It was a really yummy salad cooked with cheese. Since I was in the capital of Croatia, I ordered Karlovačko as always, but a huge local party was going on in the restaurant that night and Karlovačko ran out of stock. I could imagine why, so I went with plan B and ordered Heineken instead. Heineken is also my favourite beer, so no problem at all.

Beer was on tap and the view was simply superb

The photo shows a glass of Portuguese beer, Super Bock. I ordered the locals favourite beer at a restaurant under the Ponte Luís I in Porto, Portugal at this time in 2013. The Ponte Luís I is a metallic bridge which crosses over the Douro River and connects the city of Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia. The restaurant was in Porto side, so the view that I was viewing while I was drinking the good beer was Vila Nova de Gaia that is the city known as the home of Port wine. Overall, I had a very nice experience at the restaurant under the Ponte Luís I. The good beer, delicious food, and the fantastic view. Everything was to die for.

หมูแดดเดียว & ข้าวเหนียว

The photo shows a can of Thai beer Chang, Moo Dad Deaw (Thai: หมูแดดเดียว), Khao Neaw (Thai: ข้าวเหนียว), and a cup of Nam Chim (Thai: นำ้จิ้ม). Moo Dad Deaw (Thai: หมูแดดเดียว) is like deep-fried sun-dried pork strip, Khao Neaw (Thai: ข้าวเหนียว) is Thai sticky rice. Also, dipping sauces are called Nam Chim (Thai: นำ้จิ้ม) in Thai. I've got Moo Dad Deaw (Thai: หมูแดดเดียว) and Khao Neaw (Thai: ข้าวเหนียว) with some spicy dipping sauce at a food stall on Soi Diana in Pattaya, Thailand and had them with a can of Chang in my hotel room. They are a match made in heaven.

ข้าวคลุกกะปิ

The photo shows Khao Khluk Kapi (Thai: ข้าวคลุกกะปิ). It's a type of Thai fried rice, but its taste is not that simple as you might have imagined from the word "fried rice". The rice of Khao Khluk Kapi (Thai: ข้าวคลุกกะปิ) is stir-fried fried rice with Thai shrimp paste (a.k.a. Kapi, Thai: กะปิ). That shrimp paste makes the fried rice tastes super. Basically, ข้าวคลุกกะปิ is served with a few variety of vegetables, some meat, deep-fried chili peppers, sliced omelette, just like the photo shows. I bought a pack of ข้าวคลุกกะปิ at a food stall on Pattaya Central Road in Pattaya, Thailand. It was delicious, absolutely. So I went back to the same food stall again and again, and I wanna go again.

แกงป่าไก่ and then some

The photo shows แกงป่าไก่ (Pronunciation: Kaeng Pa Gai). แกงป่า (Pronunciation: Kaeng Pa) is a type of Thai spicy soup. It's well known as "Jungle Curry" amongst the tourists from all walks of life. That time, I ordered my jungle curry with chicken (Thai: ไก่, Pronunciation: Gai) for dinner at a restaurant on Soi Buakhao in Pattaya, Thailand. I also ordered a Thai fresh shrimps salad กุ้งแชน้ำปลา (Pronounciation: Kung Chae Nam Pla). Both of them tasted very nice and I enjoyed the dinner so much.

Preparation has been done

I took this photo in my hotel room in Pattaya, Thailand and the photo shows the inside of a fridge. I bought a couple of cans of Singha and a bottle of SPY red at a convenience store nearby my hotel, and then kept them in the fridge to keep them at the right temperature. Of course I go out to eat and drink (a lot), but I also love to watch some Thai TV programs in my hotel room. That was why I prepared some drinks in the fridge. Even though I don't fully get what they are talking about, it's fun to watch some TV programs in a foreign country. Also, watching TV commercials in a foreign county is also fun. It's like an entertainment for everyone.

Soup for breakfast

I took this photo at a little breakfast place in Pattaya, Thailand. That time I was on a short term vacation in Pattaya, Thailand and my hotel was on Soi Buakhao. Even though it was a very short stay in my favourite city, Pattaya, I wanted to make the most of my limited time. I just tried to do the things as the locals do as much as possible. I know it was not exactly the same as the locals do, but at least I tried. Meal wise, I started my days having Thai breakfast, and I ended my days having Thai dinner. The photo shows ต้มส้มไก่. It's like a type of delicious Thai chicken soup.

แก้วมังกร : Dragon Fruit

The photo shows a heap of แก้วมังกร. แก้วมังกร is a kind of fruit which is known as Dragon Fruit or Pitaya in English. Tastes like  not very sweet or sour, just like exotic as it looks like. I love this fruit. I bought the heap of แก้วมังกร on a plastic tray from a fruit vender in Pattaya, Thailand. First of all, I kept the heap of แก้วมังกร in a fridge of my hotel room, coz I wanted to had them at the right temperature. Then after that, I went to bed. On the following morning, I had แก้วมังกร for breakfast. It was a nice breakfast.
