When I have to choose one out of two...

I took this photo at Antwerpen Centraal (English: Antwerp Central) which is the main railway station in Antwerp, Belgium. I love train journeys and I've stopped by lots and lots of stations in many different countries and its cities. Antwerpen Centraal was not only ornate, but it's outstanding of it looks. Being inside of Antwerpen Centraal was like being in awe of its beauty. Viewing Antwerpen Centraal from outside was like literally jaw-dropping to see  every detail. That day in the morning, I was teetering between Brussels or Antwerp to visit one city in Belgium. Ended up I chose Antwerp and I think I made a right decision.

Viewing train sheds from outside

I took this photo in Antwerp, Belgium. I went to Antwerp, Belgium to see one of the world's most beautiful train stations as well as tasting authentic Belgian beers. The photo shows train sheds from outside. Since Antwerpen Centraal Railway Station is one of the most beautiful train stations in the world, viewing train sheds from outside is not only viewing train sheds from outside, its meaning is much more special. When I took this photo, my time in Antwerp was almost over. I had to catch a train to Amsterdam, Holland after ward. I tried to make the most of my time in Antwerp, Belgium.

They love chocolate more than anything

I took this photo in Antwerp, Belgium. My train from Amsterdam, Holland arrived in Antwerpen Centraal at 12:10. Then my train to Amsterdam, Holland was going to leave Antwerpen Centraal at 15:49. It meant I only had three and a half hours in Antwerp, Belgium. I know it was too short, but I tried to make the best of such a short stay and I hope I did my best.  My friend and acquaintances really loved the postcards with a lot of Belgian chocolate or glasses of Belgian beer photos. I sent them from a post office near the station.

Spoor Gleis Voie Platform

I took this photo at Antwerpen Centraal (Antwerp Central Railway Station) in Antwerp, Belgium. I love train journeys. I have walked around a lot of stations in many different cities in the world. While I was walking around stations, I found out a lot of interesting additional services. Then I already learned that a station is not only for a place to catch a train, we can do a lot more. And of course I can find out a lot of cultural differences. There was a Belgian Waffle place in Antwerpen Centraal. Hello, Belgium.

Give a hoot

The photo shows Antwerpen Centraal (a.k.a. Antwerp Central Station) and its surroundings in Antwerp, Belgium. It's beautiful isn't it? By the way recently, one of my acquaintances asked me to show him an amazing view picture that will make him jar drop. I chose five photos out of thousands. A couple of them were beautiful view's photos like this, the other two of them were surprising type of photo, and I chose a controversial type of photo as well. He said he especially liked one of the surprising type of photos and the controversial type of photo. He didn't give give a hoot about beautiful view's photos. To each his own.

Go with the flow

I took this photo in Antwerp, Belgium. Street signs are good for someone who want to know directions, also they are good for someone who haven't decided where to go yet. I was definitely in the latter situation. My soul purpose of going there were just to buy the chocolate flavored postage stamps, drink some Belgian beer, viewing the most beautiful railway station in the world. Other than that, I was just going with the flow, and of course enjoyed taking in the sights. Streets and buildings were beautiful plus I loved the atmosphere.

Yummy-looking submarine sandwich place

I took this photo in Antwerp, Belgium. After having a lunch break at a Belgian cafe restaurant, I walked around the city and took a lot of photos. During that, I found this yummy-looking submarine sandwich place in the street. There were so many mouth-watering photos of submarine sandwiches on top of that there was a human-sized model of a submarine sandwich. The human-sized submarine sandwich looked very cute, and looked like a doll. I love this sense of decoration. It catches passersby's attention, plus it indicates there is a submarine sandwich place.

Belgium and the Netherlands are in the Schengen Area

The photo shows a station sign of Antwerpen Centraal in Antwerp, Belgium. I went to visit Belgium from the Netherlands and went back to the Netherlands on the same day. Belgium and the Netherlands are in the Schengen Area which means passengers are able to move in and out without passport control or any other immigration step at the borders. Then I thought I got an entry stamp on my passport at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, the Netherlands, but I didn't get any entry stamps or something on my passport from Belgium. So I took this photo for my own memory instead of a passport stamp.

At the end of the rainbow

I took this photo in Antwerp, Belgium. I saw trams that was running in the street. I don't often see trams in my normal life, so they were fun to watch. A few days ago, I read an article about a cute old woman from Tennessee, the USA who saw the ocean for the first time at the age of 100 years old. Better late than never. Then I thought about things I've never seen and I'd love to see them before I'm gonna kick the bucket. Let's say, the Northern Lights, a shooting star, and say a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

Stand at one side of Antwerpen Centraal

The photo shows one side of the railway station of Antwerp, Belgium: Middenstatie. Antwerpen Centraal Station (Antwerp Central) looked really gorgeous from all sides. Not only that, but the inside of the station was also surprisingly ornate. I went all the way to Antwerp to see the station building, so I took a lot of photos of the station overzealously. A lot means exactly a lot, I mean I can make a collage image of Antwerpen Centraal with photoshop in a way. I guess a lot of people take more than one photos of Antwerpen Centraal.

Chocolate Waffles

I took this photo in Antwerp, Belgium. There was a waffle shop in a street and they were selling those mouth-watering Chocolate Waffles.  When I see Chocolate Waffles there, I felt like I was really in Belgium. Desserts-wise, Belgium is famous for Chocolates and waffles, so Chocolate Waffles sounded really Belgium to me. Actually, it was my first time to see Chocolate Waffles, by the way. If a plain waffle costs 2 Euros, and a chocolate waffle costs 2.5 Euros, which one do you prefer? When in Belgium, I prefer a chocolate waffle.

A gorilla and a tiger

I took this photo in Antwerp, Belgium. There were a couple of huge advertisements of Antwerp Zoo on a wall of a building; huge face of a gorilla and huge face of a tiger. The building was next to the zoo, and the zoo was next to Antwerpen Centraal Station (Antwerp Central), by the way. After I took this photo, I didn't have enough time to walk around the city, so I just got into Antwerpen Centraal and took photos of ornate ceiling and the others. People often describe Antwerpen Centraal Station as the most beautiful station in the world.

A rose by any other name would smell as sweet

I took this photo in Antwerp, Belgium. There was a tourist information center in Antwerp Centraal (English: Antwerp Central Station). Before I got out of the station, I stopped by the tourist information center and received a cute city map from a clerk. The map seemed like a multi language  map which was written in five different languages. Luckily, English was included on the fourth. Then, I started to walk around the city with the map. When I hit the church, I realized that the church wasn't on the map. Then, I went closer to look at the sign board of the church. The sign was written in two different languages that I couldn't read. I couldn't find out anything about this beautiful church.

Leffe Bruin and Dagverse Rijsttaart

I took this photo at a nice cafe restaurant in Antwerp, Belgium. A glass of Leffe Bruin and a piece of cake. To order a piece of cake at the cafe wasn't exactly easy for me. The first menu book that I was given was written in a language that I couldn't read, then they gave me the other one. I started to flip over the menu book and I realized that it was written in the other language that I couldn't read. I was wondering how many languages they spoke. I went with my gut and ordered Dagverse Rijsttaart. The photo shows my result. It wasn't a chocolate flavored dessert....

Where do I start from?

I took this photo in Antwerp, Belgium. A very beautiful city. That day, the weather was a little gloomy, but still. Everything I saw was beautiful things in a beautiful European city. Also, Belgium has good beer. I enjoyed a glass of Stella Artois and a glass of Leffe Bruin at a cafe with nice Belgian food and a sweet dessert. If the menu was written in English, I could order a chocolate cake or something, or probably I should have learned a little Dutch, French or German before my trip to Belgium. I don't even know the differences of three different languages, so if I need to, where do I start from?

Look at the sky

I took this photo in Antwerp, Belgium. While I was taking a stroll around Antwerp, Belgium, I looked at the gloomy sky countless times. Then, I found a statue in the street which was looking up to the sky just like I was doing in the same street. The sky looked like it was going to rain any minute. Come to think of that , one of my acquaintances from Scotland, the UK had told me that normally he spends 300 days a year on rainy days, 65 days a year on sunny days. I don't know his story was based on the exact number or not, but I was told that sunny days are rare in his birthplace Glasgow. How about Antwerp? To know that with their gut, people look up at the sky again.

Respect differences

I took this photo in Antwerp, Belgium. There was a bus terminal in the city. I took a photo of it, then I continued to walk around. Compare to Amsterdam, Holland, Antwerp, Belgium was easier to get to know the lay of the land, and also much quieter with less people. I don't know exact population of both cities, but Amsterdam was just packed with holidaymakers, so the city looked more hectic. Even though there wasn't any passport controls from and to the Netherlands and Belgium, I really felt like I arrived in a different country. Amsterdam and Antwerp were worlds apart. I enjoyed the differences.

It took me years to go back to Belgium

The photo shows Antwerpen Centraal (Antwerp Central) railway station in Antwerp, Belgium and its surroundings. My first visit to Belgium was a little bit unique. I was on a coach from Amsterdam, Holland and headed to Calais, France to get on a ferry to Dover, England. On the way to Calais, the coach drove through East Flanders of Belgium, but that was all there was to it. After that, I was trying to find an opportunity to visit a city in Belgium and walk around the city by myself, then finally. It took about six and a half years, but better late than never.

I never imagined I'd see you again...

I took this photo in Antwerp, Belgium. The photo shows the entrance gate of Antwerp Zoo. I didn't have enough time to get into the zoo, but the zoo was located right next to Antwerpen Centraal (a.k.a. Antwerp Central Railway Station), so at least I could see this entrance. By the way, my train from Amsterdam, Holland departed at 09:25 and arrived in Antwerp, Belgium at 12:10. My train from Antwerp, Belgium departed at 15:49 and arrived in Amsterdam, Holland at 18:32. It was really a short stay in Antwerp, so I didn't expect other people make the same itinerary, but a Caucasian guy who was wheeling a baby carriage forward was. The guy and me chose exactly the same trains to make a round trip between Amsterdam and Antwerp by coincidence.

What an ornate Antwerpen Centraal...

I took this photo at Antwerpen Centraal (English: Antwerp Central) which is the main railway station in Antwerp, Belgium. The station known as one of the most beautiful railway stations in the world. The station is not only ornate, but it's outstanding of it looks. If I had eons of memories in my digital camera or iPad mini, I took billions of photos of Antwerpen Centraal. The station was that stunning. Just my two cents, but Antwerpen Centraal was a cut above the rest. I visited there about ten months ago, but I still remember about its beauty like yesterday.
