Shoot up into stratosphere

I took this photo at Air Bar in Las Vegas, the States. The bar is known as the highest bar on the Vegas Strip and is located on level 108 of Stratosphere Tower. I think the name of the bar explained a lot about the location. While I was drinking a glass of cocktail, I felt like I could get close to the stratosphere. The view from the bar was just awesome. Stratosphere Tower is a slender tower which towers up on the Vegas Strip and there's no such a thing as high buildings around, so Air Bar has a great view.

Following someone's example

I took this photo somewhere in between Padrão dos Descobrimentos (a.k.a. Monument to the Discoveries) and Belém Tower in Belém district of Lisbon, Portugal. While I was walking toward Belém Tower from Padrão dos Descobrimentos, a couple of Caucasians stopped walk in front of the animal statues and took some photos of them, so I did the same thing as them. I'm not sure, but I guess it rarely happens for everyone, when we are abroad, coz it's kinda hard to remember every must-sees in the city, so sometimes people tend to follow someone's example like I am.

See the horizon from Niglihawa

I took this photo in Niglihawa, Nepal. I was on the way to Lumbini from Chitwan National park by car, then stopped by Niglihawa for a while. There was an information board which was written in English and Nepali. According to the information board, this site is identified with the birth place of Kanakamuni Buddha. I could see the horizon from there as well as Chitwan National Park. I've lived and worked my whole life in a big city or its suburbs, so I was impressed to see the horizon.

Rose Garden Salad

I took this photo at a nice Italian place in Jerusalem, Israel. It was my sixth day in Jerusalem and was the day before I was going to move to Tel Aviv from Jerusalem. I don't know much about Israeli holiday, but according to a local cab driver, they went into Simchat Torah and there were no public bus services on the following day. So, I reserved the cab to get to a Sherut station. Sherut is a shared taxi in Israel which means "Service" in English term. Anyway, I spent my semi-final day in Jerusalem to look around the locally called New City and I chose this place for lunch and had green salad and Risotto.

I guess that's Europe for you

I took this photo in Budapest, Hungary when I headed to Matthias Church and its in front of Fisherman's Bastion. I just wanted to take a photo of a few Hungarian flags with beautiful Hungarian buildings where it was. When I was in Europe, I realized that sound-proof sheets in a lot of European countries where I've visited looked like not only used for sound-proof-sheets. I mean I thought they were used for one of the beautiful sceneries of each European country. I guess they choose their sound-proof sheets and its design so as not to offend neighboring sceneries.

Gaudí's tiled mosaics on the wall

I took this photo in Park Güell, Barcelona, Spain. I saw a lot of unique tiled mosaics in Park Güell and the photo shows one of them. Park Güell itself is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. When I was in Barcelona, Works of Antoni Gaudí completely blew me away. Come to think of it, I sent a few postcards to my friends from Barcelona. Since I came all the way, I chose postcards which had beautiful photos of Works of Antoni Gaudí such as Casa Milà, Casa Batlló, the Dragon in Park Güell, or Sagrada Familia.

Panini, Risotto, All'aglio e Olio Peperoncino

I took this photo in Rome, Italy when I visited the Colosseum I found this hot dog place. I strongly remember that everything I had in Italy was just so yummy. First thing I had in Italy happened to be Panini which is like an Italian sandwich. One of my Italian acquaintances recommended to me to have authentic Panini in Italy and I looked forward to it. Other than Panini, of course I had very nice Risotto which is like a tasty cooked Italian rice, very nice Penne all'Arrabbiata and then some. Penne is a type of pasta which is shaped like a pen tip. Arrabbiata is a type of sauce which is like a spicy garlic tomatoes sauce. One of my memorable pastas I had in Italy was Spaghetti all'aglio e olio peperoncino. I had it in Venice and it tasted like heaven.

I had to take a rain check on them

I took this photo in Zurich, Switzerland. Zurich is the largest city in Switzerland and has a lot of must-see sights with beautiful scenery. The Swiss National Museum is known as one of the most important museums in Europe. Speaking of museum, there were several famous museums in the World where I was just going there and looked at the museum from outside, then couldn't go inside. The Swiss National Museum is one of them as well as The Louvre in Paris France and The Museo del Prado in Madrid, Spain. If the timing was right, of course I wanted to go inside.

Pla Tod

The photo shows my favorite Thai food Pla Tod (Thai: ปลาทอด). It's like a Thai-style deep fried fish and sauces vary by restaurant. This time I had Pla Tod at my hotel's restaurant at the edge of Chinatown in Bangkok, Thailand. I loved the sauce which contained full of garlic and chillies. The flavor of the sauce exploded in my mouth and I thought it went really well with the deep fried fish. Come to think of it, when I was in another place for dinner, a Caucasian couple who were next to me were having Pla Tod and they really loved it. Finally, they asked a staff member how to cook Pla Tod. Yep, Pla Tod is that yummy, once you eat it, you're gonna miss it after returning home.

I'm in a food coma right now, leave me alone

I took this photo in Heidelberg, south-west Germany. When I was looking up Heidelberg castle and walked around the market place, I passed through this really cute place. Germany is one of my favorite countries and I enjoyed German food culture as well. I want to take this opportunity to explain how much I have loved German food culture when I was there. First of all, I really loved German breakfast that I could have a wide variety of ham and sausages, and to make a very long story short, I enjoyed bar food with some cool beer at night. Ah, I remember that I was in a food coma at the end of each day.

What if question; If money were no limit...

The photo shows the top of Mount Pilatus in Switzerland. The silver-ish building is a hotel which is located the highest place in Europe. I've stayed at the hotel for a couple of nights and really enjoyed the great view of the Swiss Alps and beautiful Lucerne from there. By the way recently someone asked me if money were no limit where in the world I would most like to spend a week. I think I can't choose one place because for me there were so many places would like to spend a week if money were no limit. This place exactly the photo shows is one of them. I wanna go back some time.

A fusion of Lao and French architectural style

The photo shows such a beautiful entrance of Kualao restaurant in Vientiane, Laos which has Lao-style architecture as well as French-style architecture. I've heard that this kind of things that you can see in Vientiane are tend to having the influence of the French colonial empire. I've been to Vientiane twice, but I've never been to many other Laotian cities, so I don't know anything about the outside of the capital. Come to think of it, one of my French acquaintances have ever told me about Vang Vieng and its tubing. That sounds like fun.

Look forward to an unplanned trip

The photo shows one of the beautiful Outer Kerameikos ruins which I saw after I visited the awesome museum in Kerameikos, Athens, Greece. So many sculptures were open on all sides to the weather outside of the museum and visitors can take a stroll around between the huge collection of ancient sculptures. It was a really nice experience to see ancient Greek sculptures this close to me. Actually, Greece is a country where I really want to visit again. I'm thinking what would I do next time. Navagio bay in Zakynthos is already in my bucket list, but other than that, it's up in the air.
