Laab Moo ; ลาบหมู

The photo shows Laab Moo (Could be spelled Laap Moo, Larb Moo, Larp Moo, Thai: ลาบหมู) which I had at my favourite restaurant on Soi Buakhao in Pattaya, Thailand. Laab Moo is kind of like a minced pork salad with a lot of Thai herbs. Normally it's spicy, but tastes vary. Its taste depends on the chefs. By the way, Moo (Thai: หมู) means pork, so Laab (Thai: ลาบ) can be cooked with many other different ingredients like chicken, duck, beef and so on. I prefer Laab Moo (Thai: ลาบหมู), and I also prefer a very spicy one.

A tiny street to Naklua & Wong Amat Beach

I took this photo on a tiny street which will hit Naklua & Wong Amat Beach in North Pattaya, Thailand. There are many more streets to get to Naklua & Wong Amat Beach, so you might want to  choose a street which has your favourite kind of restaurants or shops. The biggest difference between Pattaya Beach and Naklua & Wong Amat Beach is the distance from the main road. Pattaya Beach is right next to Pattaya Beach Road and its heavy traffic, but Naklua & Wong Amat Beach is a bit of a walk from North Pattaya's high street Naklua Road.

View from the balcony of my hotel on Soi Buakhao

I took this photo on the balcony of my hotel room on Soi Buakhao, in Pattaya, Thailand. I spent some time in the last last month, and during my limited vacation time, I was totally satisfied with the location of the hotel. I only had four nights and five days in Pattaya, Thailand, although I had lots and lots of things to do and wanted to do. I wanted to do those things as much as possible. So I hose to stay at a hotel on Soi Buakhao and I was totally right. Actually, it was my third time to chose the same hotel on Soi Buakhao, and hopefully I wanna go back to the same hotel again and again.

TG2901 BKK - CMB; Feb 2014

The photo shows an inflight-meal of Thai Smile Airways flight TG2901 Bangkok, Thailand to Colombo, Sri Lanka (BKK - CMB). I took that flight in February 2014. It was a three and a half hour flight which was scheduled to fly into Bandaranaike airport at 00:01. The inflight meal was fabulous. A couple of different delicious curry was served with some rice and bread. The chicken and spinach curry was die for. It was really nice. The other one, the vegetable curry was very good as well. All of them was served with smile by young and friendly cabin crew.

ต้มยำไก่นำ้ข้น

The photo shows Tom Yum Gai Nam Khon (Thai: ต้มยำไก่นำ้ข้น). Thai spicy soup Tom Yum (Thai: ต้มยำ) has two different versions. Tom Yum Nam Sai (ต้มยำนำ้ใส) and Tom Yum Nam Khon (Thai: ต้มยำนำ้ข้น). The photo shows Tom Yum Nam Khon (Thai: ต้มยำนำ้ข้น) with chicken, so it's called Tom Yum Gai Nam Khon (Thai: ต้มยำไก่นำ้ข้น). Gai (Thai: ไก่) means chicken. In layman's terms, the clear soup version is Tom Yum Nam Sai (ต้มยำนำ้ใส), and the creamy red soup version is Tom Yum Nam Khon (Thai: ต้มยำนำ้ข้น).

ต้มจืดมะระยัดไส้หมูสับ

The photo shows ต้มจืดมะระยัดไส้หมูสับ which I had at a eatery on Naklua Road in North Pattaya, Thailand. I had it for breakfast. ต้มจืดมะระยัดไส้หมูสับ is like a kind of Thai soup, ingredients are stuffed bitter melon (a.k.a. bitter squash, Thai: มะระ) with minced pork and some Cilantro (a.k.a. Coriander, Thai: ผักชี) of course. Bitter melon is sort of like a tropical vegetable, so I don't see them all over the world, but I often seem them in hot cities like Pattaya, Thailand. In Pattaya, food with bitter melon are ubiquitous, and I know some yummy places to have ต้มจืดมะระยัดไส้หมูสับ.

Turn right to the land of dolphins

The photo shows a sign on a hotel in North Pattaya, Thailand. The hotel was located about 300 meters off from Naklua Road. That location makes the hotel as like a hidden resort. I was never be get bothered by hustling and bustling. No noise disturbance at night at all, plus my room had thick navy blue curtains, so I could sleep really well on a king-sized bed in a resort-ish quiet room. The swimming pool and its swim-up bar was just fantastic as I imagined before my journey to Loma Resort. By the way, Loma means dolphin in English term, so I truly enjoyed being there and doing everything what I wanted to do like a happy dolphin at the resort. When I needed to go to Central Pattaya from the hotel, I just turned right and turned left onto Soi 20. If I chose that route, I could feel being in a resort mode much longer than the other routes.

A gate of Soi LK Metro

The photo shows a sort of like a gate of Soi LK Metro in Pattaya, Thailand. When you walk onto Soi Diana Inn from Pattaya Second Road (a.k.a. Pattaya Sai Song) toward Soi Buakhao,  the gate is on your left hand side. Then if you turn left, you'll hit Soi LK Metro where the place you'll see a lot of bars and fun lovers and then some. I took this photo in the last last month, so I believe that the gate is still there. My hotel was just around the corner from Soi LK Metro and this gate. I really loved the location of the hotel. I love to be in the middle of everything.
