A cat-sized cat statue

I took this picture in Malmö, Sweden. I found a cat statue looked like walking along the canal. I don't know why, but there were some more cat statues around this area and this is one of them. Those statues were not so big, kind of tiny, just like cat-sized cats. Like I said, my favorite animals are elephants and I'm not interested in minisize animals, but I thought those statues were well-made. I understand what are the differences between African elephants and Asian elephants, but I don't understand about cats.

The competition was not fierce

The photo shows a big gate of Chinatown in Liverpool, the UK. On the second day in Liverpool, I wanted to eat some rice dish then I went to Chinatown to check out eateries and all. Eventually, I didn't eat anything in Chinatown, and had an Indian chicken curry, though. Anyway, I had another unique experience at Chinatown in Liverpool. Compare to Chinatown in Bangkok, Liverpool's Chinatown looked a bit smaller and quieter. I felt like sort of a low-key approach from eateries, I mean nobody explained to me about their menu or specialty or something like that. Basically, the competition is fierce in Chinatown, right? Weird.

Beyond my reach

This is a view of beautiful Lucerne, Switzerland. European cities are always very impressive for me. I like colors, shape of buildings, streets, flags and so on. Swiss franc bills were also interesting. The bills had vibrant color like strong yellow, pink, orange and such. It was kind of beautiful, but it was very expensive bills. Which means I needed to be careful to use it, but I just couldn't. Beer was nice as always, Cheese Fondue was so yummy, souvenirs were pretty cool, then finally I needed to exchange some more money for Swiss Franc, but some of the souvenirs were beyond my reach, of course.

Keleti Pályaudvar

The photo shows Keleti Pályaudvar station in Budapest, Hungary. My hotel in Budapest, Hungary was within walking distance from this station. The station is also known as Budapest east railway station. I took an international train from this station and visited Prague, the Czech Republic. I took Passport control on the train, not at the station. Passport control officers knocked my compartment and stamped one after another. It started from Hungarian passport control, and then Slovakian, and after that Czech. The Hungarian and Slovakian stamps looked same as any other European countries, but the Czech stamp had originality.

Sri Lankan fried rice tastes vary

The photo shows my dinner in Negombo, Sri Lanka. Vegetable fried rice, beef curry and Papadum. Sri Lankan taste is always so nice. Vegetable fried rice is just a fried rice, but tastes vary. Sometimes a chef put some garlic to the vegetable rice, then it tasted like a garlic rice; my favorite one. Sometimes a chef put a lot of spice, then it tasted like a spicy fried rice. By the way, I didn't eat beef so often in Sri Lanka, because chicken and fish and vegetables were so yummy, so I think this picture is pretty rare.

It looked like a well-made puzzle

I took this picture in Tel Aviv, Israel near the Opera Tower. When I walked toward Old Jaffa along the boardwalk, I found this building on my left hand. I don't know what this is, but it was just so beautiful. Tel Aviv beach was surprisingly beautiful, and the weather was nicely hot, so the color of this building was woven into the scenery. In Tel Aviv, I saw a lot of beautiful buildings like this. Those buildings were not only beautiful, I thought the shapes of buildings were kind of unique and looked like an art or a gigantic puzzle. Well done.

The Heidelberg Castle

After three days in Prague, the Czech Republic, I took a train and headed to Frankfurt, Germany via Dresden; I transferred a train at the station. I didn't have enough time to see Dresden, but I had enough time to buy nice sandwich and beer for lunch. I arrived to Frankfurt at the evening then took dinner at my hotel. After spent a night in Frankfurt, I went to Heidelberg by coach. I visited town square and walked around for a while. The photo shows an overview of the Heidelberg Castle (German: Heidelberger Schloss) which is considered one of the famous ruins in Germany.

Kathmandu to Pokhara by a land route

When I headed to Pokhara, Nepal from the capital Kathmandu by a land route, I stayed in Chitwan for a couple of nights and stayed in Lumbini for a night. After Chitwan before Lumbini, my Nepali guide and Nepali driver and me stopped by Tilaurakot and visited one of the possible locations for Kapilavastu. I don't know much about ancient cities and Buddhism and so on, but there were sort of ruins and all. When I was there, several Nepali kids were loitering around, but other than that there weren't so many people. I'd say almost empty.

Couldn't be happier

I took this picture in Bath, the UK. The city is famous for spas. I love spas. I'd say spa resorts are kind of like my utopia. While I'm taking a long bath, I'm really relaxed and very happy. When I travel abroad, generally I try to find inexpensive hotels, but even so some of the hotels have a bath tab. That's nice. I prefer taking a long bath rather than taking a long shower. By the way, I've enjoyed a flower bath in Sri Lanka. It was the last step of my Ayurvedic medicine course. I had a four hands massage and all and then took the flower bath in Negombo. It was really nice.

Go cold turkey

When I was having breakfast in Negombo, Sri Lanka, a chipmunk came to under my table. I'd say chipmunks were almost everywhere in Sri Lanka, but they ran kinda quickly, so it was hard to take their pictures. The table was in front of my hotel's entrance and I was eating some curry tasted bread with a cup of Sri Lankan tea. I'm a big fan of Sri Lankan tea. I was a coffee person long time ago, but after my first visit to Sri Lanka, I don't drink coffee like I used to. I went cold turkey and stopped drinking a lot of coffee, just like that.

Thimphu Dzong

This is a view of Thimphu Dzong (a.k.a. Tashichho Dzong) in Thimphu, Bhutan. I've heard that this place is the office of the king. Unfortunately, I don't know much about Bhutanese architecture, but someone told me that carpenters didn't use any needles to make this beautiful building. I don't know how they did actually, but it sounds great. Almost all buildings in Bhutan looked very different from typical concrete buildings in many other countries. One thing I can say is Thimphu was not like a concrete jungle and it was just beautiful.

Having dinner while viewing the Acropolis

This is my first dinner in Athens, Greece. I don't know much about the lay of the land, but I think I found this place near the Athens flea market. When I was looking for a place for dinner, I found a good Taverna which had a lot of tables on the street. The Acropolis was visible from the table, so I thought it was the best place for the first dinner in Athens and I was totally right. I ordered cold beer, fried zucchini and fried octopus. The food and beer were so nice and the night view of Acropolis was stunning. Also, staff were friendly and informative.

I wish I had a boom mic

The photo shows a front view of St. Vitus Cathedral (a.k.a. Saint Vitus' Cathedral, Czech: Katedrála Svatého Víta) and its rose window. It's located within Prague Castle in the Czech Republic. Very artistic Gothic design. This cathedral was kind of huge and it looked so different from different angle. By the way, when I went to the area there were so many people. It was like a zoo. A lot of tourists were dying to see Changing of the Guard. People made lines and waited for the right moment. I tried to get the best position to see Changing of the Guard and their march, but you know I just gave up. From my position, I was able to see a part of them, but I couldn't take any pictures. If I released the shutter button, the photo would show back of the hundreds people's heads. I wish I had a boom mic or something like that.

Get tanned at a swim-up bar

I took this picture at one of my favorite hotels in Pattaya, Thailand. The swimming pool was a ocean view and there was a cool swim-up bar as well. I've stayed at this hotel twice. I really love Thailand and I visited Thailand time and time again, then I always says that Pattaya is the best city in the world. I love the relaxing atmosphere, friendly people, the not so crowded beach, tasty Thai food, beer, and everything. This picture reminds me of Pattaya and things I love. I wanna be there right now and get tanned on the lounge chair.

Beware of lost property

I took this picture in Monnickendam, Holland. When I was taking a stroll around there, I saw a 2 Euro coin on the road. I often see money on the road. They are usually coins, but sometimes bills. For example, I saw a 100 Baht bill on the street in Bangkok, Thailand, and I saw a 20 Shekel bill at a parking lot in Jerusalem, Israel, and also I saw one Krone coin on the pedestrian street in Copenhagen, Denmark. I don't remember well, but I've seen some more money somewhere on the streets. Did anyone drop it?

Cross a bridge to a neighboring country

The photo shows a part of Malmö Central Station in Sweden. I went there from Copenhagen, Denmark by a train. It took about 30 minutes or so. The train crossed the Öresund (Danish: Øresund) Bridge over the Öresund strait that connects to the Baltic Sea. I bought a round-trip ticket in Copenhagen. I totally didn't know how to use a ticket vending machine, so I went to a wicket. On the train, I needed to show my ticket to a conductor. The ticket was written in language that I couldn't read, but I didn't have any problems.

Hua Lamphong station

The photo shows Bangkok Central Railway Station (Thai: สถานีรถไฟกรุงเทพ) in Thailand. It's also called Hua Lamphong station (Thai: สถานีหัวลำโพง). When I went to Vientiane, Laos via Nong Khai, Thailand I took a red-eye train from here. The Central Railway Station and Hua Lamphong Metro station (Thai: สถานีหัวลำโพงรถไฟฟ้ามหานคร) are juxtaposed to each other. Bangkok Metro (a.k.a. Bangkok MRT) is very convenient. There are some interchange stations to take BTS Sky Train. The interchange stations on the Metro line are Si Lom (Thai: สีลม), Sukhumvit (Thai: สุขุมวิท) and Chatuchak park (Thai: สวนจตุจักร). There's also an interchange station to take Bangkok Airport Link. The name of station on the Metro line is Phetchaburi (Thai: เพชรบุรี).
