Sinhalese letters and flowers

I took this photo on Matara Road in Unawatuna, Sri Lanka. Several years ago I decided to try to learn to write and read Sinhalese letters. Long story short, I gave up, but still want learn it again. Every single Sinhalese letters has special shape just like flowers. If I say so out of the blue, I guess not so many people understand what I'm talking about, but with the picture like this, hopefully some people understand what I'm talking about. The picture of Sinhalese letters and flowers. Since I gave up to learn to write and read Sinhalese letters, I can't read any, though.

Camel in the desert

I took this photo in Jerusalem, Israel when I was in a cab. I found a camel on the left-hand side, and captured a photo of the moment that I got very excited. I live in a suburban and work in a city, so camels are not ubiquitous animals in my everyday life. So when I saw it through the front window of the cab, I was like "Wow! There's a camel! Wow!" or something like that. I definitely felt like a kid in a candy store. By the way, I believe I have another photo of camels somewhere in my hard-disk drive which I have taken through the bus window in Israel. I'll post that later. Stay tuned.

Happy holidays. Prost!

I took this photo at an Irish pub in Frankfurt, Germany. The Irish pub was located across from Frankfurt (Main) Hauptbahnhof (English: Frankfurt (Main) main station), and my hotel was right around the corner from the pub. So I used that Irish pub as my "usual pub" during my vacation in Frankfurt, and went there three nights in a row. Luckily, one of the night, my table was situated in front of a decorated christmas tree, so I really enjoyed to immerse myself in festive mood. A pint of Guinness was served with what I call as the genius head. Truly well-pulled, and very well-done. Prost!

There used to be a palace on the top of the Sigiriya Rock

The photo shows the Sigiriya Rock (a.k.a. Lion's Rock). One of the Unesco World Heritage Sites in Sri Lanka. Long story short, a son of the king took his father's life and became the King Kashapa many many moons ago. The King Kashapa built his own palace on the top of the gigantic rock in the middle of tropical jungle. The Sigiriya Rock is located in the middle of nowhere, so his palace was absolutely isolated. The king lived being surrounded by thousands of beautiful women, but, you know that something happened, the rest is history. If you go there, you'll be allowed to go to the top of the Sigiriya Rock, and if you'll go to the top, you'll be able to experience to view the same views as the ancient King Kashapa did.

แหนมย่าง

The photo shows Naem Yang (Thai: แหนมย่าง) which I bought at a stall near the Chumphon Gate (Thai: ประตูชุมพล) in Nakhon Ratchasima (Thai: นครราชสีมา, a.k.a. Korat, Thai: โคราช), Thailand. Naem (Thai: แหนม) is like a fermented pork sausage can be eaten in the raw, grilled like the photo shows, stir-fried with rice, or any other style as you like. Yang (Thai: ย่าง) means grilled, so Naem Yang (Thai: แหนมย่าง) is like a grilled fermented pork sausage. Very yummy. Very. I'm the one who's addicted to its taste.

DE4082 FRA - LAS; the 1st meal; Dec 2013

The photo shows a premium inflight-meal of Condor Flugdienst GmbH flight DE4082 Frankfurt, Germany to Las Vegas, NV, the United States of America (FRA - LAS). It was a 12-hour nonstop flight and the photo shows the 1st meal on board. When I opened the meal package and unveiled the lid, I felt like I was going to have a delicious four course dinner at a fancy restaurant in the sky. Veal with ratatouille salad as a starter, Braised beef Rouladen stuffed with veggies served with red cabbage sauerkraut and German potato dumplings was the main dish, cherry mouse with fruit jelly and custard for dessert. Also, not to mention Gouda Cheese and Camembert went really well with a glass of red wine. Premium economy. Once in a blue moon experience.

Beat a path to the footpath, a work of genius

I took this photo at the Park Güell in Barcelona, Spain. The Park Güell a large public park in Barcelona, and is a Unesco World Heritage Site as a part of Works of Antoni Gaudí. The photo shows colonnaded footpath in the Park Güell where I really wanted to walk through and it was definitely at the top of my bucket list ver. the Park Güell. The city of Barcelona had a lot of must-see sites, must-do things and must-eat items. With that, I made my very own bucket list ver. blah-blah-blah, ver. blah-blah-blah, ver. blah-blah-blah... and there were so many. Half the fun is making that kind of list, isn't it?

Late autumn view of Amsterdam, Holland

I took this photo in Amsterdam, Holland four autumns ago. It was a pleasant stay in a very beautiful city with the world-famous 17th-century canal ring area, a Unesco World Heritage Site. It was actually my second visit to Amsterdam, but my first visit was like just a visit. I wanted to do a lot of things, but I didn't have enough time to do so or something like that. So for my second visit to Amsterdam, I made my stay for eight days long, and I personally believe that a week or so is the right length of stay in Amsterdam as a tourist.

Šopska Salata

The photo shows Shopska Salad (Croatian: Šopska Salata) and a bottle of Heineken which I had at a restaurant in Zagreb, Croatia. Shopska Salad is also known as Balkan salad. I had it for the first time in the previous evening, and I ordered it again that night. It was a really yummy salad cooked with cheese. Since I was in the capital of Croatia, I ordered Karlovačko as always, but a huge local party was going on in the restaurant that night and Karlovačko ran out of stock. I could imagine why, so I went with plan B and ordered Heineken instead. Heineken is also my favourite beer, so no problem at all.

Beer was on tap and the view was simply superb

The photo shows a glass of Portuguese beer, Super Bock. I ordered the locals favourite beer at a restaurant under the Ponte Luís I in Porto, Portugal at this time in 2013. The Ponte Luís I is a metallic bridge which crosses over the Douro River and connects the city of Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia. The restaurant was in Porto side, so the view that I was viewing while I was drinking the good beer was Vila Nova de Gaia that is the city known as the home of Port wine. Overall, I had a very nice experience at the restaurant under the Ponte Luís I. The good beer, delicious food, and the fantastic view. Everything was to die for.

What would I do without Ps?

I took this photo while I was being a typical tourist who got so excited in a capsule of the London Eye in London, England, the United Kingdom. Since I was on the London Eye, I had better chances to take some Bond-ish photos from there. So I tried, of course. Even though some of the must-sees in London were located with their back to the light unfortunately. In that case, what would I do without Adobe Photoshop afterwards. Today I got some spare time to do so, so I manipulated one of my photos with some functions of Adobe Photoshop and the photo on this photo is the result. It's worth in its normal condition, but I think it's gotten much better with fabulous Photoshop functions.

I was there, right in the middle of happy foodies

I took this photo while I was waiting for my dinner was served at a river view restaurant in Bangkok, Thailand. First of all, I ordered a bottle of Singha and then flipped a menu to see what they have and what looked good. I chose a few of the locals favourites like Pad Pak Boong Fai Daeng (Thai: ผัดผักบุ้ง or ผัดผักบุ้งไฟแดง), Tom Yum Kung Nam Khon (Thai: ต้มยำกุ้งนำ้ข้น) and some Thai rice. Then I started to enjoy viewing the exotic twilight view and the atmosphere. It was a lot of pleasure being there as a part of happy foodies from all over the world.

หมูแดดเดียว & ข้าวเหนียว

The photo shows a can of Thai beer Chang, Moo Dad Deaw (Thai: หมูแดดเดียว), Khao Neaw (Thai: ข้าวเหนียว), and a cup of Nam Chim (Thai: นำ้จิ้ม). Moo Dad Deaw (Thai: หมูแดดเดียว) is like deep-fried sun-dried pork strip, Khao Neaw (Thai: ข้าวเหนียว) is Thai sticky rice. Also, dipping sauces are called Nam Chim (Thai: นำ้จิ้ม) in Thai. I've got Moo Dad Deaw (Thai: หมูแดดเดียว) and Khao Neaw (Thai: ข้าวเหนียว) with some spicy dipping sauce at a food stall on Soi Diana in Pattaya, Thailand and had them with a can of Chang in my hotel room. They are a match made in heaven.

ข้าวคลุกกะปิ

The photo shows Khao Khluk Kapi (Thai: ข้าวคลุกกะปิ). It's a type of Thai fried rice, but its taste is not that simple as you might have imagined from the word "fried rice". The rice of Khao Khluk Kapi (Thai: ข้าวคลุกกะปิ) is stir-fried fried rice with Thai shrimp paste (a.k.a. Kapi, Thai: กะปิ). That shrimp paste makes the fried rice tastes super. Basically, ข้าวคลุกกะปิ is served with a few variety of vegetables, some meat, deep-fried chili peppers, sliced omelette, just like the photo shows. I bought a pack of ข้าวคลุกกะปิ at a food stall on Pattaya Central Road in Pattaya, Thailand. It was delicious, absolutely. So I went back to the same food stall again and again, and I wanna go again.

Hello, Teddy!

I took this photo in front of Teddy Bear Museum in Pattaya, Thailand. I haven't been to the inside of the museum, but I'm always interested in visiting there. Since the museum is located at the corner of Pattaya Beach Road and Pattaya Soi 1, I have walked around in front of the museum many times. The huge Golden Teddy Bear was a very popular icon to take photos with, so this photo is my only photo of the huge Golden Teddy Bear without any other selfie lovers. I took this photo early in the morning, slightly before the place would be packed.

She's he?

I took this photo when I went to visit Tiffany's Show Pattaya, in North Pattaya, Thailand. I scored a third row seat and I really enjoyed watching the cabaret show. Also, I was gobsmacked to see how stunning transsexual dancers were. The show was amazing. It worth a visit (and then some more). During the shows, taking photos were not allowed. However, after the fantastic show was over, the stunning dancers were going to outside. There, taking photos were allowed whether with them or with one of your favourite dancer. Anyways, don't gorget to tip.

แกงป่าไก่ and then some

The photo shows แกงป่าไก่ (Pronunciation: Kaeng Pa Gai). แกงป่า (Pronunciation: Kaeng Pa) is a type of Thai spicy soup. It's well known as "Jungle Curry" amongst the tourists from all walks of life. That time, I ordered my jungle curry with chicken (Thai: ไก่, Pronunciation: Gai) for dinner at a restaurant on Soi Buakhao in Pattaya, Thailand. I also ordered a Thai fresh shrimps salad กุ้งแชน้ำปลา (Pronounciation: Kung Chae Nam Pla). Both of them tasted very nice and I enjoyed the dinner so much.

Preparation has been done

I took this photo in my hotel room in Pattaya, Thailand and the photo shows the inside of a fridge. I bought a couple of cans of Singha and a bottle of SPY red at a convenience store nearby my hotel, and then kept them in the fridge to keep them at the right temperature. Of course I go out to eat and drink (a lot), but I also love to watch some Thai TV programs in my hotel room. That was why I prepared some drinks in the fridge. Even though I don't fully get what they are talking about, it's fun to watch some TV programs in a foreign country. Also, watching TV commercials in a foreign county is also fun. It's like an entertainment for everyone.

Hang out at Pattaya Avenue

I took this photo in front of Pattaya Avenue in South Pattaya, Thailand. Pattaya Avenue is a popular hangout located on Pattaya Second Road (a.k.a. Pattaya Sai 2, Thai: ถ. พัทยาสาย 2) in South Pattaya. People in Pattaya visit there to shop around, to eat and drink, to watch movies, or to do what they want. I believe that some people might visit there just to loiter around, and I did so. Oh by the way, there was a very nice Khao Man Gai place across from Pattaya Avenue. Khao Man Gai (Thai: ข้าวมันไก่) is a cuisine known as Hainanese Chicken Rice, Thai version. I really love it.

The abbreviated form of มืองพัทยา is ม.พ.

I took this photo in Pattaya, Thailand. I don't know exactly what it's called, but I'll call it as a manhole cover in here. While I was walking down a street in Central Pattaya, Thailand, I found the manhole cover which had a touch of the underwater world. Angelfish and shells are depicted nicely together with some floppy seaweed. Thai letters in a large bubble in the middle everything says "ม.พ.". ม.พ. is the abbreviated form of เมืองพัทยา. เมืองพัทยา means Pattaya City. So I thought the manhole cover was cool, then I took a photo of it.

Soup for breakfast

I took this photo at a little breakfast place in Pattaya, Thailand. That time I was on a short term vacation in Pattaya, Thailand and my hotel was on Soi Buakhao. Even though it was a very short stay in my favourite city, Pattaya, I wanted to make the most of my limited time. I just tried to do the things as the locals do as much as possible. I know it was not exactly the same as the locals do, but at least I tried. Meal wise, I started my days having Thai breakfast, and I ended my days having Thai dinner. The photo shows ต้มส้มไก่. It's like a type of delicious Thai chicken soup.

แก้วมังกร : Dragon Fruit

The photo shows a heap of แก้วมังกร. แก้วมังกร is a kind of fruit which is known as Dragon Fruit or Pitaya in English. Tastes like  not very sweet or sour, just like exotic as it looks like. I love this fruit. I bought the heap of แก้วมังกร on a plastic tray from a fruit vender in Pattaya, Thailand. First of all, I kept the heap of แก้วมังกร in a fridge of my hotel room, coz I wanted to had them at the right temperature. Then after that, I went to bed. On the following morning, I had แก้วมังกร for breakfast. It was a nice breakfast.

Capture mood and atmosphere of Pattaya Soi 8

I took this photo during my evening stroll on Pattaya Soi 8 in Pattaya, Thailand. Actually that time my hotel was located on Pattaya Soi 8, so I was on the way to my hotel at that moment and it was almost the end of the evening stroll. My hotel was just around the corner from the place where the photo shows. Since Central Pattaya is my favourite, I thought use a hotel room on Soi 8 as my base would be a great idea. Then I did so and I was totally right. I took a lot of photos on Pattaya Soi 8 just to capture mood and atmosphere in my photos.

Enjoy a late-afternoon stroll on Pattaya Sai 1

The photo shows Thai Airways International Office in Pattaya, Thailand. I love the shape of the building. TG office in Pattaya is located on Pattaya Sai 1 (Thai: ถ. พัทยาสาย 1, a.k.a. Pattaya Beach Road). I'd say it's next to  Dusit Thani Pattaya, or I can say it's across from Amari Ocean Pattaya, or right on the sharp curve. Don't worry you can't miss it. It's very easy to spot. I took this photo during my late-afternoon stroll on Pattaya Beach Road. After I took this photo, I made a U-turn and walked back to hectic Central Pattaya.

ผัดผักรวมมิตร

The photo shows Pad Pak Ruam Mit (Thai: ผัดผักรวมมิตร) which I had at a restaurant on Soi Buakhao in Pattaya, Thailand. Pad Pak Ruam Mit (Thai: ผัดผักรวมมิตร) is simply translated as stir-fried mixed vegetables. To cook it, stir fry common vegetables together with some Thai seasonings. I guess you can simply imagine how it tastes like. It's not a spicy type of Thai food, but is a yummy one. When I'm in Thailand, I frequently order ผัดผักรวมมิตร, normally with some Thai rice (and a bottle of Thai beer of course).

ต้นอ่อนทานตะวันผัดนำ้มันหอย

The photo shows ต้นอ่อนทานตะวันผัดนำ้มันหอย which is often translated as Stir-fried Sunflower Sprout. It's like a type of stir-fried veggies seasoned with some garlic and oyster sauce. The main ingredient is edible sunflower sprout. Just like the other yummy stir-fried veggies in Thailand, ต้นอ่อนทานตะวันผัดนำ้มันหอย went really well with Thai rice. While I was having dinner at an eatery in Pattaya, Thailand, a solo-traveler from Helsinki, Finland talked to me, and then we started conversations about our trips, interests, travel tips and so on. We both had a deep love of Pattaya, and had a lot in common.

You'll need that, right?

I took this photo in my hotel room in Pattaya, Thailand. The room was an AC room, and not only that, but had that fabulous ceiling fan as well. I prefer using fan, rather than putting AC on. The city of Pattaya is a kind of a big city. So I'd say where you stay is also where you go. Also, each area has different faces, if you know what I mean. That time, I decided to stay at a hotel on Soi Buakhao near Soi Lengkee. For next time? I haven't decided yet, but I'm sure I will make a reservation through Booking.com. That'll be safe and secure booking.

The street sign shapes like a ship's wheel

The photo shows one of the street signs of the city of Pattaya, Thailand which shapes like a ship's wheel. Each street signs in Pattaya shapes like a ship's wheel like the photo shows. The one on the photo is the street sign for Pattaya Sai 2 Road (Thai: ถ. พัทยาสาย 2, a.k.a. Pattaya 2nd Road) of Soi 2. It's a tad important to remember that Pattaya Sai 2 Road (Thai: ถ. พัทยาสาย 2) is northbound one-way road. On the other hand, Pattaya Sai 1 Road (a.k.a. Pattaya Beach Road, Thai: ถ. พัทยาสาย 1) is southbound one-way road.

ต้มจืดเต้าหู้หมูสับ

The photo shows ต้มจืดเต้าหู้หมูสับ which I had at a restaurant on Pattaya Sai 3 Road (Thai: ถ. พัทยาสาย 3).  ต้มจืดเต้าหู้หมูสับ is like a kind of Thai clear soup (Thai: ต้มจืด) with Tofu (Thai: เต้าหู้) and minced pork (Thai: หมูสับ). It's hard to explain what Tofu (Thai: เต้าหู้) is, but it's a sort of very soft ingredient tastes plain, can be found in many kinds of Asian soup like ต้มจืดเต้าหู้หมูสับ. In my photo, you'll find Tofu at a clock position of around 12 o'clock to 2 o'clock. Yep, they are Tofu, and is an excellent food for your health. So I'm told.

ยำวุ้นเส้นหมูสับ : Yum Woon Sen Moosap

The photo shows Yum Woon Sen Moosap (also spelled as:  Yam Wun Sen Moosap, Thai: ยำวุ้นเส้นหมูสับ) which I had at a restaurant on Central Pattaya Road in Pattaya, Thailand. Yum Woon Sen (Thai: ยำวุ้นเส้น) is kind of like a spicy Thai salad with a kind of Thai noodles. Moosap (Thai: หมูสับ) means minced pork. The Thai noodles, Woon Sen (Thai: วุ้นเส้น) looks like semi-transparent noodles, so it's often translated as Thai glass noodles. I thought the translation was just right, but when I said the word "glass noodles" to my English acquaintance, he said it sounded strange. Did it? Forgive me. Then I was told the other word to describe Woon Sen (Thai: วุ้นเส้น) in English, but I've forgotten. Totally. What would you say?

Count me in, too

I took this photo in front of an Isan place on Naklua Road (Thai: ถ. นาเกลือ) in North Pattaya, Thailand. I found this Isan place while I was walking onto Naklua Road. I was just taking a stroll around the area, but meanwhile I was doing a bit of ground research to find a nice place for my arrival night's dinner (with a cold one, of course). Then I found there. Some locals were loitering around the place and waiting for their dinner to go, some other locals were sitting at the tables and enjoying to have dinner there. It looked like a nice place, not only that but, it was totally a nice place for authentic Isan food. I miss the taste even now.

Use stairs instead of a lift

I took this photo on a stairway of a hotel in Pattaya, Thailand. I got back to the hotel from the nightlife centre and I was right on the way to my room on the second floor. Of course there was a lift, but my room was on the second floor, so I preferred to use stairs instead of a lift. Even though I was getting tipsy off of bottles of Singha and was stuffed with yummy spicy Thai cuisine, I used the stairs. Meanwhile, I took a photo of the interior wall decoration. That wall was at the half landing between the ground floor and the second floor.

เส้นใหญ่ผัดขี้เมากุ้ง : Thai Drunken Noodles

The photo shows เส้นใหญ่ผัดขี้เมากุ้ง (Pronounce: Sen Yai Pad Kee Mao Koong) which I had at my favourite British Pub on Soi 7, in Pattaya, Thailand. The British Pub on Pattaya Soi 7 is the place where you can grab a pint of European beer (Let's say Guinness and then some) with your choice of authentic Thai food. Of course many kinds of European food and pub grubs are available. Pad Kee Mao (ผัดขี้เมา) is a kind of Thai food well known as Drunken Noodles. Literally, เส้นใหญ่ means Thai wide rice noodles, ผัด means still-fried, ขี้เมา means a person who is drunk, กุ้ง means prawns. Drunken Noodles is getting popular amongst Europeans, so you'll see สปาเก็ตตี้ผัดขี้เมา at some places in Thailand. In that case, the chef use spaghetti (Thai: สปาเก็ตตี้) instead of Thai noodles then they cook a special Drunken Noodles.

ทอดมันปลา

The photo shows Tod Man Pla (Thai: ทอดมันปลา) which I had at an eatery on Naklua Road (Thai: ถ. นาเกลือ) in North Pattaya, Thailand. It was New Year's Eve 2016 - 2017 and I was on vacation. I started the evening with a cold bottle of Singha and Tod Man Pla (Thai: ทอดมันปลา). They are one of my all-time favourite match. Tod Man Pla is normally translated as Thai fishcakes and is usually served with some Thai dipping sauce. The taste of dipping sauces are wildly different depending on the restaurant or what you may ask.

On the beaten path

I took this photo at a sort of Night Market in Central Pattaya, Thailand. I was taking a stroll around right in the middle of Central Pattaya. The area was exactly one of the major beaten paths of the city, and was packed with night owls. Compare to some other "Night Market" or "Night Bazaar" in Pattaya, that night market where the photo shows was a tad of smaller one, but I believe that you'll see the atmosphere or something else through the photo. I love to shop around in Pattaya, Thailand, so if I notice there's a kind of market around there, I'll drop by anyway.

Dolphin Circle, Pattaya, Thailand

I took this photo at so-called Dolphin Circle (Thai: วงเวียนโลมา) in North Pattaya, Thailand. It's a sort of landmark of North Pattaya due to a fountain with a dolphin statue in the middle of the busy roundabout. Dolphin Circle and its fountain is located at the roundabout where North Pattaya Road (Thai: ถ. พัทยาเหนือ), Pattaya Beach Road (a.k.a. Pattaya Sai 1, Thai: ถ. พัทยาสาย 1), Pattaya 2nd Road (a.k.a. Pattaya Sai 2, Thai: ถ. พัทยาสาย 2) , and Naklua Road (Thai: ถ. นาเกลือ) meet together. I took this photo around sunset after having a good time at a Belgian pub on Naklua Road.

TG660 BKK - HND; May 2017; Cashew Nuts

The photo shows a pack of Cashew Nuts which was served as an in-flight welcome snack of Thai Airways International flight TG660 Bangkok, Thailand to Haneda, Tokyo (BKK - HND) in May 2017. The pack of cashew nuts was served together with a paper napkin. THAI's 57th anniversary was indicated by a cool logo on the paper napkin and the logo was coloured in TG purple.  It was about a five and a half-hour flight. I completed to watch two Thai romantic comedy films via my personal in-seat touch screen, but there wasn't much time left to complete the third film. Well, I shall watch this space.

Banana smoothie: นำ้กล้วยปั่น

I took this photo while I was enjoying a hot lazy afternoon in Pattaya, Thailand. I sat in a cozy cafe on Soi Buakhao and ordered Thai banana smoothie (Thai: นำ้กล้วยปั่น, Pronounce : Nam Kluay Pun). The photo shows exactly what I ordered and I wanted at that moment. My very first experience of Thai banana smoothie was at a restaurant in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. From the first sip of นำ้กล้วยปั่น, I realised that I really love it and I continue to order it when I'm in Thailand. กล้วย means banana in Thai, by the way.

ผัดกระเพราหมูสับ : Pad Krapao Moosap

The photo shows ผัดกระเพราหมูสับ (Pronounce: Pad Krapao Moosap) which I had at a local eatery in Pattaya, Thailand. ผัดกระเพราหมูสับ is often translated as stir-fried minced pork with Thai basil. หมูสับ means minced pork. ผัดกระเพรา (Pronounce: Pad Krapao) is one of the very popular recipes in Thailand, can be cooked with your favourite ingredients. For example, ผัดกระเพราไก่ (Pronounce: Pad Krapao Gai) is also my favourite. ไก่ means chicken, so ผัดกระเพราไก่  is like stir-fried chicken with Thai basil.

Breakfast under the sun umbrellas

I took this photo at a hotel's terrace restaurant in North Pattaya, Thailand. When my accommodation plan includes breakfast, I enjoy breakfast at the hotel's restaurant. That morning I realised that the restaurant also had some tables in terrace, and there were some large sun umbrellas to create shadows. I automatically thought that they looked cute and wanted to have breakfast under the large sun umbrellas. So I did so, and luckily I didn't forget to take a photo of them. The hotel was on Pattaya Soi 3, and it was about a hundred meters walk to the beach.

Viewing tropical water through palm trees

I took this photo in Pattaya, Thailand. It's a bit of an old photo in a way, but I'd say viewing the tropical bay of Pattaya through palm trees or kind of like that would be the same old same old. I love to walk onto Pattaya Beach Road and boardwalk. Some beach venders sell coconuts, so you can taste coconut water (a.k.a. coconut juice) if you want to. Coconut water means น้ำมะพร้าว (Pronounce : Nam Maprao) in Thai. When I traveled to Thailand for the third time in my life, I already knew the word น้ำมะพร้าว, because I love it. Time went by, and as of today I've been to Thailand 33 times, and counting. I really love Thailand.

หมูกรอบทอด & ซอสศรีราชา

The photo shows หมูกรอบทอด which I had at an eatery in Central Pattaya, Thailand. หมูกรอบทอด is like deep-fried pork belly. It's a crispy one and goes very well with cold Thai beer. Normally, หมูกรอบทอด is served with some dipping sauce (Thai: นำ้จิ้ม, a.k.a. Nam chim), and the dipping sauce has a wide variety of ingredients depending on taste. My หมูกรอบทอด was served with some Sriracha sauce (Thai: ซอสศรีราชา). Speaking of Sriracha sauce, I really love to eat Thai omelette (Thai: ไข่เจียว) with Sriracha sauce. If you try once, you can't stop.

หน่อไม้ฝรั่งผัดกุ้ง

The photo shows หน่อไม้ฝรั่งผัดกุ้ง. It's a yummy Thai food which is  often translated as Stir-fried Asparagus and Thai Prawns. หน่อไม้ฝรั่ง means asparagus and asparagus is my all-time favourite vegetable. So I enjoyed the dinner at an eatery on Pattaya 3rd Road (Thai: พัทยาสาย 3) in Pattaya, Thailand. It was a boiling hot day and that evening was still very hot as usual. I ordered หน่อไม้ฝรั่งผัดกุ้ง and one more Thai veggie dish with some Thai white rice, and of course grabbed a cold one: A bottle of Singha.

Shortest walking I can remember.

I took this photo at the popular location so-called Pattaya View Point (Thai: จุดชมวิวเมืองพัทยา). It's on the top of a hill in South Pattaya, Thailand. If you get there, you'll enjoy viewing the crescent bay of the city of Pattaya exactly like the photo shows. What a lovely view. Since Pattaya View Point is on the top of the hill, I asked a motorbike taxi driver for a return trip. The motorbike taxi stand was right in front of my hotel. So I just crossed the street and asked the driver to take me there and take me back here. Shortest walking I can remember.

Splurge on tropical exotic atmosphere

I took this photo in the balcony of my hotel room in North Pattaya, Thailand. The hotel provided a large tropical garden-ish setting. My room was on the ground level and the balcony was faced to the large tropical garden. So the view from my balcony was just like the photo shows. Compare to South Pattaya and Central Pattaya, North Pattaya is I'd say much more like an upmarket resort, but a tropical exotic resort, so you'll definitely enjoy to splurge on a special treatment at a fancy spa or at a posh restaurant right on the beach. Something like that.

Tuesday, August 22, 2017

Well, I lined them up in the fridge.

I took this photo in my hotel room on Pattaya Soi 8 in Central Pattaya, Thailand. The photo shows a fridge in my room. I bought various cans of Thai beer and filled the fridge with them. It looks very Thai, so I took a photo of it. They look cute together, don't they? By the way, Pattaya Soi 8 is right in the middle of Central Pattaya. It's a narrow street, but it's usually crowded with happy tourists amongst the locals. All of the people who taking a stroll around Pattaya Soi 8 just look like fun loving people. That's Pattaya Soi 8 for you.

ข้าวมันไก่ @ Soi Lengkee, Pattaya

The photo shows Khao Man Gai (a.k.a. Hainanese Chicken Rice, Thai: ข้าวมันไก่) which I had for breakfast at a Khao Man Gai place on Soi Lengkee (Thai: ซอยเล้งกี่), Pattaya, Thailand. It was the departure day of my last trip in May. I had a cab reservation at 8:15 from my hotel to Suvarnabhumi International Airport. I found the Khao Man Gai place on the day before, and I had penciled in to have breakfast there before my departure. So I did so and I was totally right. The Khao Man Gai was really yummy as well as the dip and the soup. Unforgettable.

A sort of like outdoor wall decoration

I took this photo at a hotel located on Pattaya Soi 3 in North Pattaya, Thailand. I've stayed at the same hotel twice and had fantastic days there. Breakfast buffet was just fabulous. I especially loved to choose a kind of Thai stir-fried food with Thai fried rice, and enjoyed having various Thai fruits included rambutan (Thai: เงาะ) and papaya (Thai: มะละกอ) as dessert. Since the hotel was on Pattaya Soi 3, I really enjoyed very good accesses to North Pattaya's must-sees and North Pattaya beach. Oh, the hotel had a nice swimming pool and a swim-up bar on the rooftop.

Pattaya Walking Street : ถนนคนเดินพัทยา

I took this photo while I was taking a stroll around Walking Street in Pattaya, Thailand. This photo is not from my latest trip to Pattaya, but still. The photo is showing the atmosphere of the world-famous Walking Street pretty well. Walking Street is well known as a red-light district in South Pattaya, but there are also plenty of restaurants and bars and places to have fun in a way. It's called ถนนคนเดินพัทยา (Pronounce: Thanon Khon Doen Pattaya) in Thai language, but just say "Walking Street" is fine, 99% of the time in Pattaya I'm sure.

หอยลายผัดนำ้พริกเผา: Hoy Lay Pad Nam Prik Paw

The photo shows หอยลายผัดนำ้พริกเผา (Pronounce: Hoy Lay Pad Nam Prik Paw) which I had at my favourite restaurant on Pattaya Central Road in Pattaya, Thailand. หอยลายผัดนำ้พริกเผา is like Stir fried Clams with Thai Chili Paste. A yummy one. The Thai chile paste is called นำ้พริกเผา (Pronounce: Nam Prik Paw). It looks just like jam, but magical jam to make Thai food tastes lovely. I also love ข้าวผัดนำ้พริกเผา (Pronounce: Khao Pad Nam Prik Paw). It's like Stir-fried Rice with Nam Prik Paw.
