ส้มตำหมูยอ

The photo shows a type of Southeastern Spicy Salad known as Green Papaya Salad in English term. It's called Som Tam (Thai: ส้มตำ) in Thailand, and can be cooked with a wide variety of ingredients of your choice. I bought a pack of Som Tam Moo Yo (Thai: ส้มตำหมูยอ) at an open-air Esan food restaurant along Chomphon Road in Nakhon Ratchasima (a.k.a. Korat). Moo Yo (Thai: หมูยอ) is a type of pork sausage originally from Vietnam, so Som Tam Moo Yo is also known as Vietnamese Som Tam in English. A very good one. By the way, Moo Yo is a popular ingredient among Thais, and can be used for Thai Fried Rice called Khao Pad (Thai: ข้าวผัด). In that case you can call it Khao Pad Moo Yo (Thai: ข้าวผัดหมูยอ).
