The Tagus

This is a view of the Tagus in Belém district of Lisbon, Portugal. The Tagus is the longest river on the Iberian Peninsula and which is 625 miles long. I took this photo while I was walking toward Belém Tower from Padrão dos Descobrimentos (a.k.a. Monument to the Discoveries). An UNESCO World Heritage Site Belém Tower is situated on the bank of the Tagus. Come to think of it, before visiting Portugal, I was in Cairo, Egypt and cruised the longest river on earth; the Nile, which is 4,132 miles in length.
