I've been to Laos twice to eat authentic Laotian food and to drink beer Lao. For the first time I flew in Laos from Thailand, and for the second time I went there by red-eye train from Bangkok Central Railway Station (Thai: สถานีรถไฟกรุงเทพ) in Thailand. I'm no linguist, but I'd say Thai letters and Lao letters are quite similar and I read both of them. So, I crossed the border to the neighboring country, but people speak similar languages and their letters are quite similar. I could use Thai currency in Laos as well, but food and beer are different. I enjoyed Beer Lao so much with fabulous Laotian food.
