Qumran Caves and the Dead Sea Scrolls

I took this photo through a bus window in Israel. I went on a day trip to the Dead Sea by bus. During the drive in between Jerusalem and the Dead Sea, I could observe Qumran Caves where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered in between 1946 to 1956. The Dead Sea Scrolls are texts from 2,000 years ago. The first scroll was discovered by a Bedouin boy. He went into a cave to find his animal or something, but the fruit of serendipity, it turned into the world's greatest archeological discovery of the 20th century.
